A person is living a meaningful life when they are participating in activities and relating to others in ways that fit with their unique values. Living a meaningful life looks different for every person.
Hi, my name is Martha Butler, BHSc(OT), Registered Occupational Therapist and owner of MLOT.

I am passionate about empowering people with chronic physical and/or mental health conditions to return to meaningful activities in their lives.

I have over 30 years of work experience as an Occupational Therapist. My primary areas of practice have been facilitating people with chronic conditions, anxiety and/or depression to use self-management skills so they can resume valued activities in their lives. I take a collaborative approach with my clients and other clinicians involved in their care to ensure treatment is coordinated and directed by the client’s values and functional goals.

Memberships: Alberta College of Occupational Therapists, Society of Alberta Occupational Therapists, Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, Pain Society of Alberta.

Continuing education and experience: Motivational Interviewing, Pain Neuroscience Education, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Executive Skills Compensation, Coaching for Return to Work, Exposure Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Interoception.
